What's fascinating about this hobby? Beyond its deeply relaxing nature, there are two other aspects. Firstly, it's a battle with yourself and the elemental forces around you. Like it or not, you are solely reliant on your abilities. Secondly, it's about catching waves. In our professional lives - not only there - we call these 'opportunities'. The immense satisfaction of catching a big wave that carries you effortlessly and brings so much joy is unparalleled. However, there are days when, despite all efforts, no wave lifts you - and yet the same amount of work is required.

But there's something else too. The people who watch you admire and sometimes envy you, thinking how wonderful it is to surf. But only a handful of supporters understand how much training, effort, sacrifice, and the risk of injuries it involves.
