Knowledge Intimidates Your Surroundings

Knowledge Intimidates Your Surroundings

I had the opportunity to be a lecturer and participant in courses at Stanford University several times. On both sides, it's an extraordinary place where people thirsty for knowledge meet. There, you won't encounter random students or random lecturers. The verification of the level is very quick. A bad lecturer is not invited again, and a lazy student (because you still have to pass the preliminary qualifications) will not derive value from the classes. It can be said that everyone there is exceptional. This place attracts talent. In front of the main entrance to the campus is The Rodin Sculpture Garden, created to display the works of French sculptor Auguste Rodin. Every day during sunset, sculptures of 'The Thinker' and others are illuminated with golden light. And it is a special sight. It seems that on one hand, the sculptures close their eyes to the glare of light that falls on them, which is a metaphor for knowledge that intimidates. It is said there that the humble are those who know that they do not know enough.

Leaders, creators, "figures" leaving a legacy know exactly what I am talking about. Rarely do thought-provoking, inspiring content find interest among a large part of the community. Populism and easy-to-absorb messages overwhelm us today like never before. Lack of intellectual effort and the promise of quick gains are more valuable than truth and motivation to act.

Ahead of us is another revolution that will bring – and believe me, it will be the next big thing – spatial computing with the introduction of Vision Pro from Apple. Expensive devices not affordable for every pocket will be available below 1000 USD as copies from various manufacturers from the East within a year. Apple will pave the way, others will exploit the market. With this revolution, a new stage in social media will appear. It will not be the Metaverse but a way of presenting content even more detached from reality. And more than ever, unreal content will become attractive. We will be participants in MMA fights from the perspective of a participant, we will watch blogs from vacations in a form that has nothing to do with reality. The desire for knowledge will be satisfied with a 15-minute session, and knowledge and experience will become a product of the future.

This photo was taken during one of my visits to Stanford University in 2015.

I dedicate it to all those who share knowledge not only with catchy and imagined images.
